School District of Philadelphia — Ben Franklin High School, Center for Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing, Philadelphia, PA
We worked with the School District of Philadelphia’s Office of Career and Technical Education to create a state-of-the-art vocational center to train students for careers in the modern, high-tech manufacturing industry. The $6 million-dollar project includes extensive renovations to the basement of Benjamin Franklin High School to provide shop and learning spaces for ten (10) separate skill areas.
In addition to supporting the delivery, installation and efficient operation of the teaching equipment, our design also provides learning spaces within each shop area and efficient traffic flow throughout the suite. The design also allows for other potential uses, such as an adult educational component and possible industry use in the evenings. The Center opened in September 2015.
