52nd Street Community Resource Hub
The Enterprise Center
Philadelphia, PA
The 52nd Street Community Resource Hub was developed to support the continued revitalization of West Philadelphia’s historic 52nd Street commercial corridor through a combination of community-serving office space and new residential housing. The Enterprise Center sought to establish a visible neighborhood resource while transforming a vacant infill site into a productive mixed-use development. Located between existing party-wall buildings, the property previously contained remnants of an abandoned structure that contributed little to the vitality of the corridor. O Z Collaborative designed a new three-story-plus-basement building that reinforces the street’s urban character while introducing a contemporary architectural expression. The industrial-modern façade combines brick and glass to create a building that is both contextual and forward-looking.
The first floor houses satellite offices for The Enterprise Center, providing support and resources for businesses and stakeholders along the corridor. Residential apartments on the second and third floors add new housing opportunities while helping sustain activity throughout the day and evening. By combining economic development functions and residential uses within a single building, the project contributes to neighborhood investment, activates a formerly underutilized site, and strengthens the long-term vitality of the 52nd Street corridor.
