Cyber Village

Philadelphia, PA

Mt. Tabor AME Church sought to expand its community impact by developing affordable housing for low-income seniors adjacent to its campus. The project was conceived as part of a broader vision to support a connected and inclusive neighborhood. O Z Collaborative designed Cyber Village as a four-story, 56-unit residential building funded through the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program and the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA). The development includes 15 accessible units for residents with physical disabilities and five units designed for individuals with vision or hearing impairments.

The building integrates residential units with shared amenities that support daily living and community engagement. These include an internet café, community lounges, a fitness center, laundry facilities, and a multi-purpose space for events. Outdoor areas provide accessible spaces for gathering and reflection. The design emphasizes accessibility, durability, and long-term performance. Circulation and common spaces are organized to support ease of movement and interaction, while maintaining privacy for residents. Cyber Village extends the mission of Mt. Tabor AME Church, providing stable, affordable housing and reinforcing the role of the church as a community anchor.
