Hartranft Community Center Featured in AIA Context Summer 2026
O Z Collaborative is proud to share that the Hartranft Community Center has been featured as a Design Profile in AIA Philadelphia’s latest issue of CONTEXT, themed “The Architecture of Democracy.” The restoration of Hartranft Community Center represents a meaningful reinvestment in one of North Philadelphia’s historically underserved neighborhoods. Located in the heart of Hartranft, a historically Black and Latino community, the center had been closed for more than a decade due to deteriorating conditions. Its reopening marks the return of a vital civic resource and reflects a broader effort to deliver equitable, high-quality public spaces that respond to the needs and aspirations of the communities they serve.
AIA Home Tours Featuring a Church to Condo Conversion
As part of this year’s AIA Home Tours hosted by AIA Philadelphia, 7111 Germantown Avenue offered visitors a rare opportunity to experience how adaptive reuse can preserve a historic community landmark while introducing a new model for residential living in Philadelphia. Located in the heart of Mt. Airy’s Central Commercial Historic District, the former Presbyterian church complex has been thoughtfully transformed into a collection of contemporary condominium residences that retain the architectural memory and civic presence of the original structure.
Celebrating One Year of Old First House
One year after completion, Old First House stands as a compelling example of how historic preservation, sustainable design, and supportive housing can work together to address homelessness in Philadelphia. Located in the heart of Old City, the project builds on the long-standing mission of the Old First Reformed United Church of Christ, which has served the community continuously since its founding in 1727.
